This is the new Level II Predator 224 Complete Performance Kit with the new CNC ported Level II Shredder head. This kit contains the following components:
Level II Shredder Head and PWK Carburetor Kit
1.35:1 Ratio Gage full roller rocker arms
5.380" x 3/16" chromoly steel pushrods
DynoCams 308-224 camshaft
ARC 6619 billet aluminum flywheel
2* advanced ignition key
Your choice of either ARC 6773 or 6266 connecting rods with optional 22.5mm CH flat top piston.
Gasket kit including 70mm x 0.045" head gasket
Complete performance upgrade kit for the non-hemi Predator 224cc, Ghost 212, or Wildcat 223 engines. These engines are all based on the Ducar DH224, and you will need to check the specs on the side of the box for the 70mm bore x 58mm stroke because this kit will not work with the 75mm x 51.5mm hemi version of the Predator 224. It is always a good idea to check the hand holes in the box for the stamped steel octagonal valve cover that is flat on top. Both of the HF Predator 224 engines have black valve covers, so you have to make sure that it is flat and octagonal.
Set your clutch or torque converter to lock up or stall up to 5,000rpms. Always use a high zinc oil like Valvoline VR1 10w-30 in all flat tappet cam engines.
The kit includes the following components:
This kit comes with an ARC connecting rod cut from a billet of 7075 aluminum, and an ARC flywheel with 32* of ignition advance that's been CNC cut from a billet of 6061 aluminum, so you can forget about striping flywheel keys and tearing up cranks, and it gives you the ignition advance you need to rev out and actually make power with the Shredder head. The DynoCams 308-224 cam has welded and ground lobes so it won't wear out on the opening ramp in five hours, and it doesn't have crazy duration, so you will actually have the mid range power that you need. The Level II spec Shredder head flows 100 cubic feet per minute of air, or enough to feed 25hp, which has now been dyno verified. For this kit we include correct length 5.380" chromoly pushrods, and Gage 1.35:1 ratio roller rocker arms to get total valve lift up to .416" where the head flows really well.
These are high quality parts that are actually setup to work together as a package, and it delivers for a low price! All of the guess work has been taken out, this kit has everything you need, with none of the compromises of the others out there.
Compression ratio chart is in the kit pictures. You will have 10.5:1 compression with a stock 3cc dished 224 piston and an 0.045" head gasket. If you run a flat top piston with a Shredder head you will need race gas. This kit requires a minimum of 93 octane pump gas. If you opt for the high compression flat top piston and 3.343" rod and 22.5mm compression height piston option it will bump your compression ratio to 11.7:1, and you'll need to mix an ounce per gallon of VP Octanium booster to 91 or 93 octane pump gas. You can get this octane booster at Walmart for around $25 for a 32oz can.
Recommended oil is Valvoline VR1 10w-30 because it has the needed ZDDP additive package to protect a flat tappet cam as well as a minimum spread between the base oil's viscosity of 10w and the 30 weight at 212*F from the added Viscosity Index Improvers needed to achieve an SAE 30 rating at temperature. What this means is that the oil will not wear out the VII package and shear to a thinner grade as quickly as a 5w or 0w. We NEVER recommend running a non-zinc fortified oil in ANY of these industrial based engines with flat tappet cams.
